Privacy notice

What we collect

• Account details: your name and email address, and a securely hashed password that nobody can read.
• Membership details: education level, school or university, preferred department, interests and skills.
• Optional phone number, used only by administrators to contact you about your membership.
• Payment evidence: the screenshot and transaction reference you upload, and the review outcome. Screenshots are re-processed when uploaded, which removes hidden details such as location data.
• For high-school students: confirmation that a parent or guardian agrees to your participation.

Who can see it

• Other members cannot see your email, phone number or payment information.
• Payment screenshots are stored privately and are visible only to you and administrators authorised to review payments.
• Administrators see only the information their assigned duties require. Their actions are recorded in an audit log.
• We do not sell your data or make member contact details publicly searchable.

Notifications

Notifications are shown inside your dashboard. We do not send email or SMS notifications other than account emails: confirming your address, resetting your password, security codes, and alerts when your account is signed in from a new device.

Retention and deletion

• Payment screenshots are deleted as soon as the payment is approved or rejected, and files handed in for an assignment as soon as the work is graded. The decision, the transaction reference and the grade are kept.
• Sign-in records (time, device and network address) are kept for 90 days so you can spot sign-ins that weren't you.
• Read notifications are deleted after a year.
• You may ask for your account and personal data to be deleted at any time by contacting contactyouthubet@gmail.com.
• Audit records of administrative actions may be retained without your personal details for accountability.
